Participation in Graduation:

All seniors will be required to have completed all graduation requirements prior to graduation and must participate in graduation practice in order to participate in the graduation ceremony.  This includes remitting any outstanding fines. All school rules and the school dress code are still in effect at practice.    Participating in the graduation ceremony is a privilege, not a right.

GRADUATION INSTRUCTIONS

The graduation ceremony will be at Georgia College and State University at the Centennial Center on THURSDAY, May 23 at 6:00 pm.

Directions for the Centennial Center:

http://www.gcsubobcats.com/information/DirectionsCentCtr

PARENTS will enter through the MAIN entrance (upper level of the Centennial Center).

GRADUATES will gather for graduation in the assigned hallways at the Centennial Center. They will enter by the hallway doors downstairs, not the main entrance.  GRADUATES need to be there by 5:15PM.  They do not need to be wandering around the auditorium.  We may need to go over a few things immediately before graduation.

EVERY guest, no matter how young, must have a ticket in order to enter the Centennial Center.  This includes babies held by adults per Fire Marshal order.  Tickets will be distributed at practice.

The Centennial Center does not allow air horns, balloons, or silly string to be brought into their facility.  These items will be confiscated by the Centennial Center and the owner may be asked to leave the program.

To maintain the dignity of the ceremony, parents and guests are asked to please remain in their seats throughout the commencement ceremony and during the recessional.  Guests should not walk down the aisle to take photographs.  Doing so is distracting and blocks others’ view.

Female graduates should NOT bring purses as we have nowhere to store them at the ceremony.

SENIOR FEES:

Senior Fees are $30.00.

Make sure that all fines, fees, etc. are paid by 3:30 on Thursday, May 2.

If you have not paid a fine/fee, you will NOT be included in the graduation list.  You cannot come to school the day of practice to pay a fine/fee and expect to march in graduation.  Fine Lists are posted on the information centers, next to the counselor’s door, and on the bulletin board located outside of the library.  Make sure that you turn in all of your books.  No checks will be accepted after Tuesday, April 30th.

PRACTICE REMINDERS

STUDENTS MUST ATTEND ALL OF PRACTICE IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE GRADUATION CEREMONY ON THURSDAY.

You need will need to be in the Fine Arts auditorium in a seat by 8:00 am on TUESDAY, May 21.  We will begin practice in the auditorium and leave there around 9:00 to go to Milledgeville.  You MUST ride the bus!  Hopefully, we will return around 12:00, but that will depend on how attentive the class is.  You may NOT leave practice early for any reason.   Do not obligate yourself to work or anything else on that day.

All school rules and the school dress code are still in effect at practice.

BE ATTENTIVE and FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS!  The sooner you get it right, the sooner we can leave.

Gentlemen, you MUST bring your caps so that you can practice taking them off and putting them back on.

You will get more detailed instructions AND your tickets for your guests at the practice.

NO students will be allowed in the school building after practice.  Have your ride pick you up from the field house end of the parking lot.
