Substitute Teachers
Substitute Teachers are critical to our system!
We appreciate your interest in substitute teaching in the Jones County School System. We are excited to announce our substitute training process! It will allow more substitutes to be approved to start work throughout the school year. If you would like to be a substitute teacher, simply complete your online application for Substitute Teacher through the Jones County School’s Recruitment and Hiring online application system.
Human Resources will review and screen completed applications. Candidates who are selected will be invited to attend a mandatory substitute teacher training sessions. Information will be sent based on the order of the date that your application was submitted. Registration is not required; however, it is very important to make sure that you submit your application promptly and have a valid email address. We will schedule training twice a year or as needed. Once the mandatory training is complete, individual interviews will be scheduled.
Certified Substitute Teachers
If you are a Georgia certified teacher and you are interested in substitute teaching, please complete your online application for Substitute Teacher through the Jones County School’s Recruitment and Hiring online application system. Once you submit your application, please contact Geneva Braziel in the Human Resources Department at gbraziel@jones.k12.ga.us for further instructions. Jones County School System is conveniently located in Gray, GA, which is approximately 90 miles southeast of Atlanta, 15 miles north of Macon, and 20 miles southwest of Milledgeville.
Faculty Credentials and Certification
The Jones County School System is proud of the professional credentials of its teaching staff and will furnish to you, upon request, the professional qualifications of any of your child's classroom teachers. This includes information concerning the grade levels and subject areas in which the teacher is certified, the major fields and degrees held by the teacher, and the qualifications of any paraprofessional who provides services to your child.
